Le Meridien Hotel - 4 Star Resort

Le Meridien is adorned by an exotic garden. Its spacious rooms are stylishly furnished and kept in warm, rich colours, thus enhancing the tropical atmosphere and providing an interesting contrast to the sparkling turquoise and blue of the lagoon. They offer nice views of the 800m white sandy beach and the very large pool area.

Three restaurants offer an array of atmospheres and cuisines from international multi ethnic live-cooking to a Mediterranean and Mauritian fusion concept, informal snacks or island seafood cuisine.

The four bars cover a wide spectrum by offering exotic cocktails, fruit juices, snacks and titbits, cool drinks, the sports channel news on satellite TV or simply a quiet corner to sit and watch the sunset.

The Meridien hosts a large ballroom and banqueting facilities for several hundred persons. The conference centre provides an open plan business lounge with Internet and secretarial services.

A world of its own is the new health spa and fitness centre. In a relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by its very own tropical garden, this oasis offers to the guests' health and beauty treatments such as Ayurvedic practices, hot stone therapy, reflexology etc. Asian and traditional beauty treatments are ranging from head massage to facials. Hereto a hair salon and a relaxation area featuring saunas, steam rooms, a power body shower and a Jacuzzi complement the range of treatments.

For its sportive or fitness oriented guests, the Meridien offers a fully equipped gymnasium, a range of water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking, glass bottom boat tours etc., a diving centre, tennis courts and the children's Penguin club.

Excursions and activities such as island tours are offered by the hotel tour operator. The shopping arcade is where one can find souvenirs, gifts and a selection of beachwear and body care.

There are five restaurants serving at Le Meridien:

"180 degrees" offers panoramic view of the expansive Indian Ocean. Breakfast buffet is presented each morning and the evening ambiance is accentuated with diverse flavours from Asia to Europe, with specialist chefs creating the magic of "a la minute" cuisine in a centrally located open kitchen

"Shells" serves selection of salads, tapas and grills during the day and is transformed into an elegant and romantic seafood restaurant in the evening

"La Faya" Rustic atmosphere featuring a blend of Mauritian and European cuisine with emphasis of the wine and drink selection - adjoining bar

"La Croque" snack bar and ice cream parlour

"Cum in" serves authentic Indian cuisine, with gourmet presentations and a tropical ambiance

The 4 bars comprise of :

"Bay View" central gathering place, offering games and sports channel news and a great variety of drinks

"Papaya bar" the chill out spot offering fresh juices and hot drinks with great sunset views

"Le Bois Cheri" the chameleon lace, serving everything from hot drinks to cool beers and wines, spirits and juices along with titbits or light snacks

"La Faya bar" offers aperitifs and one can sip colourful cocktails and drinks while ordering from the selection of snacks before dinner

Late check out policy:

Hotels, Resorts and Villa Resorts

For all the accommodation, the check-in time is generally 14:00 (2 pm local time), and check-out time is 11:00 (11 am local time). Guests can ask for early arrival or late departure. Generally, charges apply equivalent to 50% of the normal rate for one night.

- Early check-in is considered to be as from 06h00
- Late check-out is considered to be before 18h00

Policy on children staying with parents:

Up to two children will be allowed to share a room with two adults. This facility is free of charge all the year round, except during the peak season. This is not applicable to Nirvana rooms.

The charges for children during the peak season are 68.13 Euros per child per night.

The charges for children in own room are:

- One child under 12 years: Single adult room rate
- Two children under 12 years: 25% discount on double adult room rate
- Three children under 12 years: 25% discount on triple adult room rate. 

Cancellation Policy:

Payment

You must pay a deposit at the time of confirmation of your booking. This is usually 30% of the total amount. Sometimes a higher deposit is required, if airlines or other service providers request full payment. This especially applies for airlines, and certain accommodations requiring higher advance deposits -this happens mostly during peak season.

If you are booking within 40 or less days of the commencement of your visit, full payment will be due right away.

Balances to be paid must reach our account no less than 35 days before your visit with us. If we do not receive all payments due in full and on time, we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case, we will be entitled to keep all deposits paid or due at that date.

For some group tours, an additional interim payment is required, of which you will be notified at the time of quotation.

Credit card payments may incur a surcharge, which is advised at the time of payment. The surcharge range between 1 to 3% of the total invoiced amount.

Modification and cancellation policies

Any modification or cancellation of a confirmed reservation for services will entail additional charges equivalent to the corresponding costs charged by the service providers. These charges may include penalties, administration fees and bank charges.

Airline tickets are personal and cannot be modified, transferred to or replaced by somebody else's name.

We will do our utmost to facilitate changes before the travel date; however please be advised that most flight tickets are non-refundable and that our partners apply cancellation fees. If cancellations occur within seven days after booking of services, a 3% administration fee applies. Deposits for cancellation of confirmed services more than 7 days after booking are non-refundable.

Every service provider has their own cancellation policy and cancellation fee amount. Maurisun has standardised their payment terms and cancellation fees in an effort to provide our clients with a standard policy. We will advise upon booking if conditions have become more restrictive. We refer to the General Conditions if no others are stated in the price list or no special conditions are enclosed with the invoice.

General Cancellation Policy for accommodations after full payment has been made:

- Cancellation within 14 days of booking: 50% of full amount
- Cancellation within 7 days of booking: 75% of full amount
- Cancellation within 72 hours of booking: 100% of full amount

Cancellation conditions are generally more restrictive for accommodation during peak season (Mid December to mid January) with 100% of the full amount being withheld within 45 days of booking.

Christmas and New Year Eve Supplements are not applicable for children under 12 years of age.
