Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort - Rooms On Half Board

Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort is situated at a mere 45 minutes' drive from the airport and at an hour's distance from the capital Port Louis. The hotel offers its guests villas of six or eight rooms, created in colonial style. Ideally located between the sea and the green mountain, each room offers tranquillity in abundance.

The hotel is surrounded by a wonderful tropical garden featuring a variety of exotic plants. The serenity of this enchanted garden is enhanced by small pathways and bridges spanning sparkling waters. A beautifully designed pool and the beach sand add to the charm of the place.

The furniture in the rooms has been inspired by the French colonial period and includes dark timber floors and light and floral fabrics. Even the spacious bathrooms are charmingly furnished with amenities reminiscent of the colonial times.

Every room or suite has a lounge area, a ceiling fan and individual A/C. Floor to ceiling French windows open wide onto a veranda.

In the Deluxe Rooms, a wide four poster bed creates a romantic ambience that is enhanced by light linen drapery flowing from the ceiling.

The Junior Suites include a large free standing colonial style bathtub, a lounge, and a larger veranda. In the Senior Suite, a spacious bathroom adjoins the bedroom.

The Ocean Suite is significantly larger than the Senior Suite and comes with a free standing bathtub, garden and an external shower.

In Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort, there is a butler on call for every room, available all through the day.

The restaurants offer a whole spectrum of gastronomic luxury, with a choice of "show-time kitchen" at the Main Restaurant, fish with an Asian touch at the Seafood Restaurant or a true colonial experience at the historical Chateau de Bel Ombre. The main bar offers fine wines and spirits.

A wide range of sports and leisure facilities has been designed for the hotel guests. They may choose to play golf on an 18 holes championship golf course designed by Matkovitch and Hayes, water sports like windsurfing and diving or land sports like tennis and aerobics. The huge nature reserve of Bel Ombre provides nature lovers a unique environment for jogging, strolling or excursions by foot, on horse, mountain bike or quad bike.

The Six Senses Pyramid Spa offers a variety of signature treatment as well as facials and therapies for body care.

There is a Kids Club with age appropriate activities, sports lessons and environmental excursions.

Le Telfair, awarded the World Travel Awards 2008, is certainly a place where you may relax the body mind and soul in a uniquely pristine environment.

There are four restaurants in Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort. The main restaurant, Annabella, offers a show kitchen with cosmopolitan and self-created dishes and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Seafood Ginger restaurant, on the beach, serves seafood with an Asian touch, and encourages guests to pick their choice from the catch of the day. The Chateau de Bel Ombre, the original 19^th century château, serves cocktails, traditional tea and haute cuisine in grand style, in the evenings. The Beach Restaurant Le Palmier offers Mediterranean cuisine and open wood fire cooking.

Golf

The 205 acre Le Golf du Château, adjoining Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort, is an ideal all the year round destination for golfing enthusiasts.

Designed by South African golf architect, Peter Matkovich, the par 72 Championship Course has receptive greens and wide undulating fairways, which cut through sugar cane fields, against a backdrop of volcanic mountains and a breathtaking view of the ocean.

The land was originally a part of a working sugar plantation. Much of the landscaping and design features, as well as the use of Vettiver and Mondo grass, simulate the dramatic contours of the estate fields, which still surround the course.

Technically challenging features include strategically placed bunkers, tricky elevations, water hazards and blind greens. Two rivers, Citronniers and St Martin, cross the fairways at unexpected places.

While the course has been designed to challenge advanced players, it can also be enjoyed by recreational golfers. Five sets of tees are provided for each hole, with generous fairway provision, where necessary.

Golfers can enjoy a casual lunch or a formal dinner at the estate's original homestead, the Chateau de Bel Ombre, which has been integrated into the course. The Clubhouse also serves light lunches and drinks.

A concept unique to Le Golf du Chateau is its 9-hole par 3 course, which offers beginners a chance to try out golf, or those more experienced a chance to practice their "short" games.

For golfers who need some fine tuning, there is a state-of-the-art golf academy and driving range, with top rate instruction available. New clubs are available at the Pro Shop.

Le Telfair residents can access the course via golf cart through a private pathway and may either walk the course or take golf carts.

Sports Facilities (Sea and Land)

• 18 holes championship golf course with clubhouse, pro-shop, golf carts and coaching
• 600 m² swimming pool, aerobics, table tennis, gym, jogging and tennis
• Aqua gym, mini golf, petanque, yoga, beach volley, tai-chi and table tennis
• Windsurfing, pedalo, kayak, water-skiing, surfing, catamaran and kite-surfing
• Glass bottom boat tours, snorkelling and hobby cat sailing. 

Scuba diving, deep sea fishing, lessons in tennis, water-skiing, windsurfing, golf, horse riding, pony trekking, mountain or quad biking, and canyoning at the Domaine de Bel Ombre can be arranged at extra payment.

Late check out policy as per the Maurisun policy.

One extra bed for one adult or child, or a sofa bed for two children under 13 years can be added in the Superior room. The Deluxe room and Junior Suite can accommodate one extra cot, with no extra bed. The Senior Suite and Ocean Suite can accommodate one extra bed for one adult or one child, and one cot.

Children in own room (half board)

Children between ages three and 11 can get a room of their own.

The discount rates offered will be as follows:

• 50% during the period April 17 to September 30
• 25% between November 1 and November 30; December 1 and December 21; January 7 to April 16.

Payment
You will need to make an advance payment, usually 30% of the total amount, as a deposit to confirm your booking. Maurisun Adventure & Tours will communicate to you the amount to be paid in advance, at the time of booking.

The deposit may vary, depending upon the various factors that make the package and the tourist season of the year (peak season or off season). For some group tours, there could be an additional interim deposit.

Outstanding balance must be paid not less than six weeks prior to your arrival.

In case of last minute bookings, you will need to make the full payment at the time of booking.

There will be a 3% surcharge for payment made through credit card.

If payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be considered cancelled, with no return of the deposit. We will, of course, endeavour to contact you first.

Conditions for Cancellations

General conditions will apply, in the absence of any special conditions or stipulations in the price list. Any special conditions will be enclosed with the invoice.

The general conditions applicable in case of cancellations are:

- within 30 days         20%
- within 14 days         60%
- within 7 days           80%
- within 72 hours       100%

Please note that these conditions might change for some accommodation and periods, i.e. Peak season (Mid December to mid January) 45 days: 100%.

In case of overbooking or when the service provider fails to provide the promised accommodation, Maurisun reserves the right to accommodate the traveller in the same type of accommodation and standard, if not better. 

Cancellation by Agent

In the unlikely event of the cancellation of a trip by the Tour Operator, the agent will propose an equivalent trip and/or package to the client.

If the client chooses to refuse that option, then the agent shall refund the entire amount paid to him by the client. Additionally, the agent will pay the client a cancellation fee equivalent to what the agent would have claimed if the client had cancelled his trip.

The only exception to the above would be cases of force majeure, such as a natural calamity. 

Technical Provider and Financial Security

Your agent who booked the package for you is your Technical Provider.
