The unusual architecture of this exclusive property has been created by the renowned Thai architect, Lek Bunnag. Mr. Bunnag was influenced and inspired in his work by the Mauritian heritage and culture.
Interior designer H. L. Lim from Singapore has used soft and subtle coloured natural fabrics and timbers, to create a light and soothing atmosphere.
Sugar cane thatch covering the roofs and volcanic boulders in the walls of the gardens that are rich in tropical plants and shrubs, offer an environment friendly atmosphere.
All the rooms and villas overlook the azure lagoon. They are very airy and spacious. They have been furnished in a unique style. The large bathrooms have a vanity counter, a sunken bath and a separate shower. All the bathrooms overlook private tropical gardens.
The villas have their own private courtyards and an elevated dining pavilion, with a wondrous view of the Indian Ocean.
Two restaurants and three bars cater to the culinary needs of the guests. They offer European, Creole and Oriental cuisine. You may dine under the stars or enjoy a spectacular sunset with a tropical drink at the bar. The hotel has a very fine collection of wines and spirits.
During the day, light meals, tropical sorbets and cocktails will be served at the two swimming pools, in a quiet casual atmosphere.
Voted "the best spa worldwide" by the European Spa Academy, the Oberoi spa offers a wide range of holistic treatment such as body massages and scrubs with 100 % natural products. Ayurveda, aromatherapy and Eastern treatment are offered here.
Water sports such as snorkelling, water skiing, windsurfing, parasailing and scuba diving can be enjoyed in the lagoon off the Turtle Bay, the Marin Nature Reserve which borders the hotel.
The hotel also organizes sunset cruises, catamaran excursions and big game fishing.
